I Want More And More And More

“I Want More” was the only Can song that charted in the UK (#26, August ‘76). And two years ago, Spoon Records gave it a snazzy 30th anniversary reissue, complete with picture discs and orange vinyl. But silly, ignorant wikipedia forgets to mention that it also shows up in the coolest movie ever made about mixtapes, plagiarism, and Christmas suicide (“Morvern Callar”). The 2002 indie stars Samantha Morton and has a mind-blowing soundtrack (two Can songs, Ween, Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra, Broadcast, Holger Czukay, The Velvet Underground, Boards of Canada, Stereolab and Aphex Twin). It’s unfortunate that the massively talented Lynne Ramsay lost the “Lovely Bones” directing job to Peter Jackson, isn’t it?
